Sorry to throttle an old topic but just performed a quick scan after receiving my new scanner (£20 delivered from China). Jesus H Corbett!!!! Had about 30 errors on the first screen! My initial thought was how the hell is my E53 (53 plate & pre-facelift) still alive?!
Is this a common problem?
Also I recently replaced the left rear sensor but it still comes up as an error.
Should I try to reset all the error codes and retest?
I'm sure you will all agree there's a big argument for "if it ain't broke don't fix it" here because the car ain't broke just loads of error messages.
What should I do guys?
Cheers

Re: Scanner Errors....yikes!
I just reset all my errors and re scan a week later, it throws up loads of errors if the battery goes flat on you, mine has done this a couple of times, lucky realy both times was still in the garage after being stood for a couple of weeks.

Thanks
Have I got anything to lose by resetting all the error codes?

Re: Scanner Errors....yikes!
You can always make a note of them but if any are 'current' then they will be regenerated. Some could have been there for months and were for a one off glitch, possibly completely falsely triggered by something like a flat battery....which as we know are the source of many evils with these cars!

Re: Scanner Errors....yikes!
Managed to clear most of the error codes but 3 keep recurring.
First two items on page 1 are "not found" all but 3 on page 2 are not found and all are not found on page 3. What does this mean?

Re: Scanner Errors....yikes!
Mine has loads of modules that are " not found " it means that the scanner is looking for all the different modules that it has the software for, as it is designed for all the possible options, ie pan roof, heated seats, satnav, Bluetooth , et
It looks for each module in turn, also its designed to be used on several cars, like the E46' E39 so they may have different modules, so not found means that the module isn't present in your car, for it to interrogate.
As I have an aftermarket headunit, it throws errors up for the MID and radio, as they have been removed, so I wouldn't worry about it.
