Drinks holder clips broken and rattling...grr

Morning all

I've just traced the source of the most annoying rattle in the world  ( really! ) to the small clips on the can holders in the centre console . 3 have broken off (my missus likes a BIG bottle of water there..) , they've fallen into the transmission cover area below but being a technical numpty I can't see how to get them out ?

Any clues anyone ...thx in advance

This shows exactly what to do, only question in my mind is whether my brute force only approach will result in collateral damage...hmm

Might ring dealer as it is under BMW warranty and I'm not sure my wife did the damage or not...

It's not the easiest of consoles to get out but in this case, to get the lose clips out would require just a lift of the console rather than a complete removal.
