red dot on speedometer

Does anyone know how to erase the red tamper dot on the e53 (2002) speedometer/ instrument panel. I have bought a second hand instrument cluster ,but the red tamper dot is illuminated how do I extinguish it ?

BMW record mileage in 2 places (1) The Footwell Module (2) The cluster if they vary to much then the Tamper Dot appears
It is simple to correct if you have a BMW friendly Diagnostic I did my 4.4 and 4.6 after changing the cluster on the 4.4 and Footwell module on the 4.6 I used BMW 1.4.0 if you have it it is simple you can also use INPA but a bit more convoluted
If you have BMW 1.4.0 just connect then at the top of the page select units then IKE it will show mileage in Kilometers just match it to what the car has done click OK job done

BMW 1.4 is what i used years ago on my 2002 e53 as well after a cluster swap.
The guide i followed was for doing the job on an e46 as at the time i couldn't find one for the x5.
