Roof Rails
Anyone ever removed the roof rails or can offer any advice on doing so 

E53 X5 4.6is, Carbon Black, LPG, Paddle Shift, Dynavin N6, Lowered, 22"Wheels, Side Bars. Perfusion Exhaust

Yes iv'e had mine off for a few coats of satin black, very easy to get off its only 6 of them spline or hex bolt things .
be careful with the rubber gaskets when you put the rails back on make sure they are seated properly .

Took them off then lots of degreaser a good going over with a scuff pad prewipe / primer / satin black
