iPhone 5 and bluetooth pairing

Post by Zakbelle » Thu Jun 05, 2014 3:29 pm

Sorry I know bluetooth is an old topic but searched and still don't have the answer, just picked up my X5 today and tried pairing with my iPhone 5. Just keep getting a message saying can't pair even though it accepts my PK code???

Any ideas out there??

Cheers

Craig

Make sure that when your phone finds the car the code you enter is the pass key for your bluetooth unit in the car not your phones. I know someone who did that !!!

Sanj, did you say you could find the PK code somewhere apart from on the card from BMW??? The person I bought the car had owned a few x5's and just wondering if I got the correct card

Code is printed on the label of the bluetooth unit in the boot in mine.

Hi guys, I presume this is the bluetooth module with the PK code on the underside? I will have to take it out at work as I don't have small enough spanners. That's the error message I'm getting, anyone seen this??

Cheers

Have you completely wiped out all previous pairings?  I know Sanj asked this above, but perhaps you missed this. You will get this error message if there are already 4 paired phones. Delete ALL the pairings and try again.  The BT unit is under the spare wheel mounted sort of sideways in my car, its not near the satnav. The code is on a sticker on the BT unit. I would try deleting all the pairings first though, its easier and the phone will not pair if there are already 4 other past units paired.

Cheers condorx5, I think I've followed the procedure for deleting previous pairings (I got the 3 long beeps after 10 seconds) . What is the unit in the second pic above? Is that the tv tuner??

Morning
My Bluetooth unit is down below the CD player below the level of the boot floor it has a label that clearly says "Pass Key" and a 4 digit number.
The unit in your picture looks like its a signal amplifier.

I suspect the 5 won't pair because of lack of compatibility of old and new technology. My old BB 9000 bold works perfectly but the later BB 9900 won't pair.

My iphone works with our 2006, whats the bluetooth part number when you are looking for the passcode? Found a place the other day that offers a bluetooth software update service...

Gonna get a small socket from work today and check the module to see if the card I have with the PK code is correct, if that's not the issue rhinoman could you give me details of that update service

Cheers
