I own a 3.0D facelift.  We've ended up doing less mileage than expected (less than you) so with hindsight I would have preferred a V8.  The diesel is reasonably quick and torquey on the motorway but it's not the smoothest.  The SL60 has a 6L V8 though.  The main reason for buying that was to scratch the V8 itch.  It's a shame that might have to go before long.  The only trouble with that is that we don't live in Deutschland.

Sl60 now that's a rare car,  I thought they were v12s ???
