LCI steering wheel switches

"Geolocation" is a new word to me. I dislike masks to, they block a lot of light output ime.

My replacement steering wheel is now fitted drama free. I only lost the clock and date display, which is easy to reinstate. The 'new' buttons now operate steering wheel functions as LCI cars are designed to ...

LCI steering wheel switches

Point taken on touching the terminals together. As best I remember, the positive terminal block is pretty busy. I'm not inclined to disturb it tbh. Maybe I'll just give it half an hour after taking the negative off 😀

Always appreciate your input. I've asked a lot of questions since acquiring the ...

LCI steering wheel switches

Oh so CIC was changed shortly after being introduced as well then. I know the paddle operation on My E71 is original, push pull on either side which i prefer, though very rarely use, to single operation up/down paddles. It doesn't apply to the E70 so it doesn't matter.

From recollection, downtime ...

It seems the LCI models have a simplified system. Pre LCI had assignment options in the menu.. I've set up the idrive options to match the LCI steering wheel buttons, which is all i need, if that

LCI steering wheel switches

If you mean on the bottom image then the upper button changes the entertainment source and the bottom is air recirculation mode. My manual doesn’t list the buttons on the upper piccie. Whether they will work I can’t say. They’ll do something, but maybe only what is already there rather than ...

What do the inner switches do? I assume the top one is audio in some way?

Screenshot_20250801_124317_eBay.jpg

The originals on mine are selectable, but in reality, i never use them. The question is, when swapping steering wheels, would these switches be compatible to swap, or do i need to split ...

Adding a secondary fuse box

Thank you.

This is curious though, as i know already this vehicle is not necessarily as officialdom would have me beleive. Having previously accessed the front foglights to switch the bulbs to LEDs, and having seen the techie working in the headlight washer void, no snail horn shapes came into ...

Adding a secondary fuse box

Now that the irritating, painful elements of the E70 are hopefully resolved. Its time to have some fun with it, based on it ultimately being exported.

I fancy adding one of these really loud so called bull/train horns, an LED light bar in the front bumper recess (below the grills) and possibly some ...

E70 ride height warning

Back to the indy workshop this afternoon and watched the techie at work. It was a bit odd seeing the car raise and lower with electronic intervention. The suspension ride height is now within BMW tolerance but still not exactly the same both sides. The discrepancy is only 6mm though, which i can ...

Is lowering possible with inflatable bags? Is that achieved by main dealer (how much :o ) coding?

It doesn't look lower than others i see, but then i don't rush to them with a tape measure in my hand. Its back to the indy workshop on Weds. I'll see what develops from that.

Providing there are no faults recorded and stored using INPA/ISTA you should be able to recalibrate the suspension height, if I recall it should measure 725mm bottom of rim to wheel arch +/- 5%

I'm old school, from the ground vertically through the middle of the wheel to the underside edge of ...

Car has a secret..

Only one answer, get the dash pod sorted. Better to know for sure what is or isnt working.

Concealing faulty warnings is a bit naughty :x

A fresh question

Does the physical position of the sensor affect the airbags actions? Noticed the left rear is sitting about an inch lower, measured to the wheel arch, than the right side.

Given the old sensor was held by a cable tie its positioning will have been well off. I don't know if the ...

Pretty sure. But even more curious about it now.
