F85 - engine cover

I think I will need to get it investigated rather than fill up as the car is too new to naturally have lost it. Thanks for the pointers, don’t think it looks like a diy possible check

F85 - engine cover

Found the way - I lifted the whole thing up so I had it in my hands. Then I could see there were 7 rubber thingies at various locations, and receptors on the engine block itself. Having seen where they were, I could apply the pressure when putting it back at just those points and now it sits fine ...

F85 - engine cover

Thanks Richard, I had a good feel and look around it but did not see any pins sticking out, nor any rubber grommets where they would fit in unless they are much further in the middle where I cannot see it

F85 - engine cover

Just noticed that after the service the engine cover is very wobbly of the X5M. It is the rear cover, can’t see anything on the web about how these are fixed, I assume some rubber grommet somewhere and a few screws. Does anyone know?

Battery question X5M

Did a bit of research in getting a new one, but then I started reading that there are two batteries in the X5M of that era (2018). Is that right?

I was thinking of getting a Bosch s5 13 (type 19). Anyone has any opinions on those as a replacement?

Do they all just lie? The service of the ID last week included the testing of the charge cable, all good.

Except there was no charge cable in the car as that was at home ...

Oh, it got worse. They are now paying for damage to a wheel as well

Video at there dealership of all wheels is never a waste of time as they could not argue it, even though of course it is the first defence that it was already there.

You are not making it any better

Dropped the X5M off for a tyre replacement and MOT, and had two calls since. They don't know how to start an X5M. They asked me how to do it, should I be concerned ....

Talked them through it that the gearbox is different from an automatic and that you needed the key on you and foot on brake ...

Good point - even though it is at recommended, it might be too low. Will increase it to the level of car with passengers and luggage

Looking at the tyres, inner side is the worn side (outer part is absolutely fine). Is that the expected wear pattern for the M or should I get the tracking checked?

I should stop turning right as the rear left is significantly lower than the rear right

On the E70, I never changed the tyres until I sold the car at around 40, and the E53 lasted 48k per set so it isn’t me, honestly

Yes, I can see I can get Pirelli again and that is the only * rated. I just didn’t like the wearing on it, they lasted 15k miles only :x
