I must be sad too, been waiting ages for this to appear. I'm due an upgrade and my 3Gs is dying, even after several resets.

I've seen another rumour that it could go on sale Friday 14th, hope so, I can get it before my holiday that way.

With out clicking and reading the link, what's the difference in the 4 to 5. The wife bought me this 4 as an undate from the 3GS for fathers day, it would be wrong for me to get the 5 now.

new model will have a slightly larger screen than the existing iPhone 4, and that it may include an NFC (near field communication) chip which would enable it to be used with payment services such as Google's Wallet servi

Also, although nothing at all has been confirmed, it's likely to get the faster processor from the iPad 2 and also talk of an 8mp camera.

I don't think it warrants going from iPhone 4 to 5. IOS 5 should be interesting on both devices though.

Bring on the iphone5

Got ios5 from a developer friend of mine and I have to admit that seems to have a few nice bits to it. I was under the impression the next iPhone update was going to be more of an iPhone 4s type. Be interesting as my current contract is up :)

There are 3 theories doing the round, but all are just guesses really until Apple tells the truth....

1. There will be just an iPhone 5 released, currently seems to be least favourite.
2. There will be just an upgraded iPhone 4 released, labelled 4s.
3. Both will be released, 4s primarily as a cheaper option for PAYG, iPhone 5 as new flagship model.

I'm strongly of the opinion that the 4s will appear, probably immediately, mainly as I think Apple want to make it GSM & CDMA compatible so they don't have to continue manufacturing 2 versions of the current iPhone 4 for the US Market. I'm also highly optimistic that the iPhone 5 will also appear to try and keep Apple in their current position, although that may not be available to purchase straight away, although I can't imagine they'd want to risk missing Christmas sales.

A lot of rumours have appeared in the last 24-48 hrs that Foxconn actually lost a disguised iPhone 5 early this year which is what the Chinese have been using to design new cases. Apparently, rather than just a few random ones popping up on the net, there have been tens of thousands manufactured. If that's true, I can't believe a manufacturer would of gone to all that trouble and expense without a good reason.
