I reckon you could offer £400 and do a deal for £500.......

Worth keeping it in storage for that money especially considering not much change from £2k for a removal rebuild &/or recon exchange.

Could always be sold for cost sourced if car sold later.

I would probably get fluid & filter changed before fitting considering the mileage is low enough to not worry re possible damage & also low enough to give some trouble free motoring.

I might be tempted to ask to see pic of the dash or service book/last MOT of donor car to verify mileage.

My box went at 46K approx, so would not be too happy with a 65K box. I know it is all down to luck though.

Gosh.......46k is the lowest indicated mileage I have ever known of a E53 ZF auto box failure.
