Aux Heater Anyone?

Presumably the existing parking climate controls (either by timer or web app) just blow ambient around the cabin?
I called the dealer and he advised that there is no aux. heater available for the F25, which is odd as I now have the PDF that shows it is a dealer fit.
Anyone got one or know how much it costs inc. fitting?

The app or car settings just blow ambient air into the cabin. It makes a slight difference on cold frosty morning, but nothing like a aux heater.
I didn't think this was available, but stand to be corrected by someone in the know.

It's about £2k plus Vat and labour to install (or was).  Changes required to fuel system and cooling system plus coding.  A number of manufacturers have dropped it from the UK market even though it's available in the Continent as apparently we don't get cold enough.  BMW have joined that group AFAIK.

Ah, thanks for the responses. Just been rinsed for all the accessories I always forget about, so this will have to wait. Given the dealer warranty lasts 12m from collection, I might wait until it runs out and look at the after market options at the same time.

The standard units were or are Webasto systems.  Same as fitted to VAG cars (and many others), boats and caravans.  There is no official retrofit kit listed for the current F25.  Indeed the system specifically says 'no options for this car'.  BMW call it 'Parked Car Heating'

Fit one of these and leave the heat/cold settings on what you need.

Just fire it up remotely and wait for it to heat up or cool down per the car settings

Now the mornings are getting chilly, I have taken to going out and starting her up, and then locking the doors. Stand in the living room and finish off my coffee whilst watching her warm up.

The Aux Heater has been a factory fit option since about 2013 costs about £1100, prior to that it was listed in the F25 Accessory Brochure - but without part number or price.

I have this option fitted to my X5 and it's brilliant, especially when you've got a 3.30am start to the airport and you can get into a prewarmed car that you set the timer for the evening before.

Desperately looking for it on X3's, there is 1 in AUC today with it fitted, but would be interested whether it's possible to get fitted either through a BMW dealer or via a Webasto dealer to UK cars built without it as a factory option.

Have a look on Realoem and see if there is an official retrofit kit.  If there is then a Dealer will fit it.  If the line on Realoem refers to an 'EBA' and a number, ask your Dealer for a copy as it covers all the work needed and time allowed.  That will give you a clue as to the cost - which might be ridiculously high!
