X5 is going

Fantastic car and 14 months of fine and enjoyable motoring. However, £1100 for another years warranty was the catalyst for change. For very little more money the 2010 X5 is being exchanged for a 2011 SDV6 RRS HSE which comes with 2 years free servicing and 2 years Land Rover warranty. It was an offer too good to refuse.
X5 goes at the end of next week (Saturday 1st Nov)
Old
New

I am aware that a warranty is a necessity rather than a nice to have on land Rover!

Thanks, i felt the RRS had a better driving position, but the BMW is better built. To be fair, its my wife's car, i will get to drive it on rear occasions…. (like going to the petrol station).

::) Its the updated (LCI equivalent) RRS with the 8 speed auto and the slightly uprated and more economical engine. ON paper it has similar economy figures to the pre LCI E70 (which ours is/was). She will only do 6000 miles a year, so a few mpgs are not that crucial.

I had the pleasure of a 13 plate RRS supercharged. Brand new and pretty much every option. I did like driving it but in the few weeks I had it the rear offside door handle broke so you couldn't get in that side and 2 switches broke lol.

The are not easy to find and prices don't seem to be that different from diesels for the same age. Come resale time it will be easier to shift an SDV6 against a 5.0 S/C…...

Mate of mine bought a brand new RR Sport, his wife came back from shopping when it was a few weeks old and said the door wouldn't shut properly. He went out suspecting she had trapped the seatbelt in the door but on opening the drivers door it 'fell off' where the hinges had given way !!
Needless to say he got it collected and got a full refund and purchased a Merc.

Are you trying to scare me?? I owned a new Disco 3 back in 2005. Had it 3 years and it never let us down. LR/JLR must be doing something right, they are a company in the ascendancy with products that are very much in demand.
