Technically, in Australia, those pictures are of roo bars. They would take out the cows legs from underneath it but the cow would still smash into the windscreen! Bull bars are big and angled in a way that drags the animal underneath the vehicle. They are big and ugly and will cause serious injuries to pedestrians.
