This is getting out of hand

I agree with X5Sport. Not much room for passengers at this rate. No doubt the next law will be the requirement for all UK drivers visiting France to carry onboard a fully trained French mechanic just in case you break down. In fact that's not a bad idea, at least it would sort out their massive unemployment problem ! O those work shy surrender monkeys do love a bit of pointless bureaucracy don't they !

Either way I'm going this summer and really looking forward to those empty motorways, great food and all that open space with no middle lane drivers. It's worth the hassles, looking like the HSE has attacked us as we drive along in high-vis vests in 35 degree heat, just to enjoy the best bits of the country!

On another note/example I was told on the phone this morning that my "delivery driver" is not allowed to unload goods incase he hurts himself ! How can he be a "delivery" driver, surely he's just a driver, he's not actually delivering if I have to unload the f**king van for him !! Yesterday I heard it all, another delivery guy told me it was company policy that he was not allowed to take his shoes of when entering a property in case they are "stolen" ! What the hell is happening to the world?

Im afraid during there are still middle lane drivers in France and I have to admit most of the time they are british!

Multiply by 10 if that helps? 50mg against UK's 80mg - or about half the UK limit give or take.

I would reckon about a half litre of 5% beer or 2 medium glasses of wine. Difficult to estimate as I'm sure you'll know, a lot depends on body mass and other factors.

I'll be the one that says if your going to drive dont drink.

The blood-alcohol drink-drive limit in France is 0.5 grams/litre (lower than the UK limit of 0.8g), and means that you can be breaking the law on two glasses of wine. You are liable for prosecution if you are over or equal to this limit.

Possible penalties:
Blood/alcohol level between 0,5 g/l and 0,8 g/l = fine of €135 (and the loss of 6 points on your licence if resident in France).

Blood/alcohol level is in excess of 0,8g/l = 2 years in jail, €4,500 fine, the confiscation of the vehicle (and the suspension of the licence or the loss of 6 points if resident in France).

Blood/alcohol exceeds the legal limit, and a presence of banned narcotics (drugs) is detected, the penalty could include: 3 years in prison, €9,000 fine.

If you cause an accident while driving over the limit, the fine could be increased to €30,000.

If you cause serious physical harm or commit involuntary manslaughter (you kill someone while driving), penalties may be: 10 year prison sentence and a fine of up to €150,000

If you refuse to take the breathalyser, there may be further penalties.

I completly understand where your coming from.......be a little careful cos i think french lager can be a bit stronger.

To be honest its more then next morning that most people need to watch out for.

Then again ive not been pulled over in france for years which probably means ill get pulled next week now
