B&C post have tarnished how do I fix? (Shadow line) with pics

Hi guys.
My car has shadow line window surrounds (kinda black chrome)
Some of them have tarnished. Mainly the B & C window posts.
I've tried to use cutting compound(farecla g10) and polish(autoglym deep shine)
And that helped but didn't fix it.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hello, I used Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0 on my E53 with a similar problem and then finished with a decent polish.

Hi sorry to ask the obvious do you just apply this by hand and work it in and buff off ?? Would you recommend masking tape all the surrounding areas or not necessary ?? Cheers

I had this on my E70 whenit was new. The offending bits were replaced under warantty
