Not in no big rush to go out and buy one but as I'm working sat-Sunday night I think I'll treat my self to one, been looking at the D3100 my wage limits me to a D3100 plus 18-55 and 55-200 combo £580. This will be my first DSLR And will be used mainly for holiday snaps. Every yr we go away for 4 weeks, may-June and august. We always have some photos done by the pros, but costing a few hundred a time I might as well buy one and do them my self.
Any site on tips and tricks or an body on here can give a guide.
Cheers

This site is quite good for reviews and they also show pictures taken with the camera

I bought the Lumix G2 and have found this camera a good all-round camera as it has a button on that makes it a point and click. Since the G3 is either out now or out soon it could be a cheaper buy.

Don't forget eBay once you've made up your mind. They tend to be owned by careful owners and usually safe purchases.
I got a GREAT deal on a Canon 450D as my first DSLR and the shots we took at the meet of the go-karting were on that, low light, fast action (well all but AW8)
The boys sorted the manual settings, I'm a novice...

Cheers for the link
I no what your saying about careful owners and buy or look on eBay but I'd deff buy new from the likes of jessops. Not had to much good luck on eBay these last few buys.

Very much a personal choice........best go have a play. Ive always had canon eos dslr's and have been really happy but i know other people who prefer nikon. Its more how you get on with the feel and the menus
