Re: E83 X3 3.0i 2004MY Transfer Case Fault Code
Those pictures look horrific, glad I got my transfer box swapped for a re-conditioned one, thanks kkx5 for doing it plus identifying the other advisories. Having a 'nearly' 14 years old car at 144K miles sometimes doesn't seem worth the money to keep it mobile, but we still love the car, even though ...

I also heard (and would rather replace this) about this here; http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=PA91-EUR-01-2004-E83-BMW-X3_30i&diagId=27_0110

Re: E83 X3 3.0i 2004MY Transfer Case Fault Code
Yep, that's me booked in this Friday AM! Need a second opinion on the fault, whether you can 'check' the fault codes to ensure it is 100% the transfer case/box before you make the swap? I really DO NOT want to be spending hard-earned cash if the actual fault is the actuator or the gear within the ...

Re: E83 Rear Washer
Thanks jagr - is there a DIY page somewhere that I can follow for this fix? I would need to check the rear passengers carpet floor also.

Re: E83 X3 3.0i 2004MY Transfer Case Fault Code
The fault is with the transfer box itself and not that actuator, so it would mean the whole transfer box would need replacing, at a cost of 720 for a re-manufactured (swap for my unit) from this place in Blackburn I've found.

E83 X3 3.0i 2004MY Transfer Case Fault Code
Hi folks,
My local indy quotes that a repair on my 2004 E83 3.0i is not possible to swap the gear inside the transfer case actuator and that a whole unit will need to be replaced; is this true?
Cheapest price I've seen on ebay £799. BMW themselves quotes £2,250 for the part alone!!
I know some ...

Re: E83 Rear Washer
I have now just noticed that definitely a leak somewhere internally as the drivers side carpet/mats are soaked. As soon as I fill the water reservoir, press the wash stalk, the water eventually escapes.
So, where would I begin to look at this issue from?

Re: X3 TV receiver?
Mine's a 2004 version with TV function, and when I first bought the car I could get reception. To get to it, you had to go through the menu and there should be an option to select TV.

Re: E83 Rear Washer
When I press the rear washer stalk to release the water to the tailgate, I hear the pump from the water reservoir but not water comes out, no leaks at all either.
I will take the needle and check the nozzle to see if that clears it, otherwise I will go to the front and swap the two pumps around so ...

E83 Rear Washer
I have a 2004 X3 and recently the rear wash wipe is not working properly. The wiper moves, but pressing the wash/water stalk I can hear the water pump from the front of the engine supposedly coming from the wash reservoir, but no water comes out at the rear. The front wash works fine no issues ...

Re: E83 Rear Wiper Motor & Jet Issue
Hi jagr, all dry there if you're thinking the leak is from the pipe on the drivers side carpet.
Would a leak lead to the rear wiper to not work though?

E83 Rear Wiper Motor & Jet Issue
Hi folks, I have a 2004 E83 and my rear wiper has stopped pointing north. When trying to use the wiper stalk no sound comes from the wiper itself and not water can be squirted out. But whilst trying to move the wiper back to its original horizontal position, it kinda goes back and then water/washer ...

Re: X3 E83 Newbie
Just got a note that they have deemed the car as a Total Loss!!! Sent the pics to a trusted bodywork repairer, and they reckon buy it back at 20%, then use the rest of the money on the repairs. Although it will be classed as either Cat C or D (not sure which yet), we plan to have it repaired ...

Graemex5, if it comes to a write-off and I wish to have it repaired myself, will it still be categorised?
